Luck o' the Irish

Happy St. Patty's Day!

I love holiday's. Any holiday really - there is something about having a reason to celebrate or do something out of the ordinary that is exciting to me. There is never a St. Patrick's Day that I do not dress in green or indulge in an Irish treat and normally, I wake up in anticipation! Today is no different, but is especially exciting because of the beautiful weather.

If you are out looking for some accessories worthy of a leprechaun, here are some suggestions:

Target - Very limited in t-shirts but did find an adorable green v-neck tee in the pajama section that is perfect. In the $1.00 bins in the front of the store they had a small selection remaining of light up necklaces, pins and earrings shaped like shamrocks as well as a few hats. We were lucky to find two light up rings but could not find any more.

JoAnn Fabrics - Good selection still remaining of party supplies and accessories as of yesterday- I would make this your first stop.

RiteAid and CVS - both had some items but again, these locations were very limited as they are pushing Easter products already.

If you are looking for something to do in PA or the surrounding areas, you can check out http://www.st-patricks-day.com/ which offers a by state list of parades and other activities. The list, unfortunately does not include Allentown, however I can tell you that its this Sunday, March 21st at noon.

If in the Allentown area looking for something new and fun tonight - a short trip to the little town of Bally, PA would be worth your while! The Bally Hotel hosts a six-day bash (this past Friday through until today) featuring a beer tent, beer trucks, green beer, bagpipe players and the nightly "funeral procession" for Finegan's Wake. The hotel also features a selection of Irish food favorites for those looking to fill their stomachs before pints of green beer. For more information visit: http://www.theballyhotel.com/.

Enjoy and be safe!
